CSR to be featured at 2014 Rotary District Conference

The 2014 Rotary District Conference for Sri Lanka and Maldives will comprise a special feature on "The Need for Effective Corporate Social Responsibility in Organizations Today" There will be presentation by Mr. Sujeewa Mudalige – Partner, PricewaterhouseCoopers, Mr. Suresh Shah - Director/Chief Executive Officer, Lion Brewery (Ceylon) PLC and Mr. Hilmy Cader - Chief Executive Officer, MTI Consulting. This will be followed by a panel discussion that will be chaired by Rotarian PDG Gehan Siribaddana. CSR is not a form of charity or philanthropy, a disguised marketing activity or a loss making enterprise. Instead, CSR needs to be viewed as a form of care and responsibility by all corporations in the actions they undertake. MTI completes Palestine project, signs-up in Turkmenistan

MTI Consulting and their associates in Palestine were awarded an USAID/DAI project in July last year. The project which entailed an economic feasibility study for the Sludge and the Stone Industry in Palestine was successfully completed this month. MTI executed this project in association with Expoworks plus, an associate of MTI in Palestine and IMM Carrara, an Italian firm well recognized in the international stone industry. The collaboration with these organizations was pivotal to the success of the study as it was important to have a pulse in Palestine as well as the technical expertise in the industry. Lanka IOC retains MTI for second phase of ASEAN Entry

  Lanka IOC, having successfully completed the market mapping of Indonesia and Myanmar for lubricants with MTI Consulting, has now re-appointed MTI to execute the second phase of in-country distribution operations. Speaking to media, the Managing Director of Lanka IOC Mr. Subodh Dakwale said "The MTI study has given us the market map and pulse of the lubricant market in these two key emerging markets of Indonesia and Myanmar. We are excited by the prospects offered by these two markets and the ability for Lanka IOC to service them. We now rely on MTI's regional expertise in setting up our channel network.
